Job Description / Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator will serve as the lead for overall project implementation and will report directly to the Focal Person of Shushilan. S/he will be responsible for leading and managing the project team, ensuring timely and quality implementation of all planned activities, managing resources efficiently, and maintaining coordination with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead overall project management as Project Coordinator, ensuring effective planning, implementation, and administration of all activities.
- Develop and update project implementation plans, procurement plans, and recruitment schedules in line with project objectives.
- Planning and ensuring execution of household-level vulnerability assessments to identify food-insecure and climate-vulnerable populations for targeted support.
- Design and roll out the distribution process for Multi-purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) following donor and organizational guidelines.
- Collaborate with local authorities and communities to identify and design Cash for Work (CfW) schemes that address local needs and reduce risk of food production.
- Design CfW modalities and ensure transparent, timely disbursement of cash support to selected beneficiaries.
- Plan and deliver training for targeted communities on climate-smart agriculture, homestead vegetable gardening food nutrition, processing, and preservation to enhance food availability.
- Assess the needs and distribute the agricultural inputs (e.g., seeds, tools, organic fertilizers, livestock feed) to promote homestead food production in line with government standards.
- Support and build the capacity of youth groups to engage in forecast-based early actions, contributing to reducing food security risk.
- Facilitate awareness and access to the Complaints and Feedback Response Mechanism (CFRM) using IEC materials and preferred community channels.
- Ensure consistent liaison and coordination with local government (DC, UNO, LEBs), private sector actors, NGOs, INGOs, and sectoral line departments.
- Represent the project at coordination, networking, and information-sharing meetings at the upazila and district levels.
- Organize and lead staff development initiatives including training sessions, monthly staff coordination meetings, and quarterly project review meetings.
- Provide day-to-day leadership to the project team through coaching, mentoring, supervision, and performance appraisal.
- Facilitate donor visits, audits, and consultant-led activities such as baseline surveys and evaluations.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of high-quality reports (monthly, quarterly, and as required) to donors and management.
- Obtain annual work completion certificates from the relevant administrative departments as per compliance requirements.
- Capture and document project learnings, best practices, and success stories to inform future programming and scale-up.
Educational qualification: Master’s in Agriculture/Environmental Science/Development studies/Economics, along with a professional background in Food Security and Livelihood Program management.
Experience Requirements:
- At least 5 years working experience in the development field preferable in managing food security and livelihood programs with national and/or international organizations, particularly in homestead food production, climate-smart agriculture, cash transfer, cash for work, and food preservation and processing in both development and humanitarian contexts.
- Proven experience in market scoping, gap analysis, and stakeholder mapping for food security programming.
- Strong understanding of the coastal context of southern Bangladesh and the livelihood and food security needs of vulnerable populations.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging and collaborating with government officials, NGOs, private sector actors, and community-based organizations.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Bengali.
- Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Respectful and committed to principles of gender equality, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), safeguarding, code of conduct, and cultural diversity.
- Willingness to respond promptly to any humanitarian emergency as required.
- Capable of driving a motorcycle with a valid driving license.
- Able to operate virtual communication platforms such as Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, etc.
Salary: BDT 73,205 per month (Consolidated- No bonus applicable)

Travel Requirement: Frequent travel to Rangabali Upazila (Patuakhali), Taltoli Upazila (Barguna), Koyra Upazila (Khulna), and Shyamnagar Upazila (Satkhira) as per project needs
