Shushilan, a national reputed NGO is going to implement a project entitled “Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) Project Bangladesh” with technical and financial support from FHI 360. Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project is a global project funded by the US Department of State and the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), that provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to strengthen Global Health Security (GHS), including outbreak response; improve maternal and child health (MCH), and promote health systems strengthening (HSS) including supply chain management.  EpiC is led by FHI 360 with it’s implementation partners including Shushilan working in seven districts of Bangladesh where Shushilan is working in Jashore and Satkhira district. Shushilan is inviting application from the qualified and interested candidates for the following position.

Job Description / Responsibility

• Upazila Facilitator will report to Upazila Coordinator;
• S/he will responsible to plan and implement Union level activities.
• S/he will be responsible for regular visit to make functional of all Community Clinic, Community Groups (CGs), Union Health and Family Welfare Centers within his/her jurisdiction.
• S/he will also responsible to facilitate/conduct orientation, awareness session, meetings etc regarding sustain essential MNCHN service utilization.
• S/he will enhance community preparedness and response to public health emergencies.
• S/he will organize different awareness raining events/shows in the community level.
• Participate in different staff meeting, training, orientation etc.
• Organize competency development sessions for community health workers (CHCPs, FWAs, HAs, vaccinators) and service providers on promoting handwashing, safe waste management, animal handling, and early reporting
• Organize competency building session for service providers and frontline workers from DLS and DAE (Veterinary Surgeon, Assistant Livestock Officer, Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer) on farm biosecurity measures for zoonotic disease prevention during the monthly progress sharing meeting
• Regular visit of CG orientation on the protective behaviors during the CG monthly meeting by respecting CHCP, HA, FWA
• Regular visit of community awareness sessions for targeted community influentials and religious leaders by respecting CHCP, HA, FWA
• Conduct regular discussion sessions with CGs to review the local situation and reinforce alert messages by CHCP.
• Prepare progress reports on field activities.
• Document the lesson learnt and best practices on field activities.
• Respect and maintain code of conduct practice
• All kind of positive motivation to support and response in emergency situation.
• In addition to that any other duties and responsibilities may assigned by the authority / organization which need to be carried out.  

Educational Requirements: Bachelor Degree. Academic qualification is relaxed for experienced female candidates.

Experience Requirements: At least 4 years experiences on working with health, nutrition, health emergencies and development projects.

Age: 25 to 40 year(s)

Additional Job Requirements

• Able to mobilize Community Clinic, Community Groups (CGs), Union Health and Family Welfare Centers;
• Demonstrated community engagement and mobilization skills.
• Health, nutrition and health emergencies preparedness and response
• Effective communication and relationship building with stakeholders and government departments especially Health Department, Department of Livestock (DLS), Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), LGIs etc.
• Facilitation skills
• Problem solving and decision making
• Time flexibility
• Basic knowledge in operation of digital devices and data entry.
• Respect on gender, PSEA, Safeguarding and cultural diversity
• Able to operate virtual communication platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.

Salary: BDT 30,000 per month
